Spot repair
Small areas of damage can be repaired in with all finished with varying degrees of success. The damage could be in the form of wear, scratches or dings and will hide similarly well or otherwise depending on finish type, age, and condition. Colour matching can be the most difficult part of the process and as such can add significantly to the cost of a repair if we cannot find a relevant color code, or if we are dealing with an aged finish.
Full re-finish
We offer a full re-finishing service on request and work exclusively in a non catalyzed nitrocellulose lacquers and paints.
Partial re-finish
Where a larger area of finish of one surface is damaged a partial re-finish can be suitable. The same rules and restrictions apply as with spot finishing, albeit to a different degree given the larger area of coverage required.
Colour matching
At times an absolute devil of a job and one which we prefer to leave to other companies to do for us. To this end, we work with numerous suppliers of historically correct paint colors and tinted lacquers. If the specific shade doesn’t match up to anything commercially available we also have a range of tints, dyes, and stains we can mix in the house to match your finish.
