Chambering

The sound of a, heavy solid body guitar at full bore can be quite something to behold. Sadly, so too can the weight you’re hanging off your shoulder. If for whatever reason the weight of a heavy guitar no longer works for you then we can look into the chambering/weight relief process. Depending on the amount of material to be removed and the ease of access to these areas, we may suggest one method over another. However, in essence, we’re going to be looking to strategically rout out material to remove the mass, whilst maintaining structural integrity and the sound you’re looking for.

Cutaway conversion

Venetian or Florentine, single or double, adding a cut away to your instrument can dramatically improve access to the upper frets of your instrument. The process requires attention to be paid to the stresses and strains acting on the top of the instrument and upper bout and can require additional strengthening to be built into the area. These considerations allowed for, there is no reason can’t be successfully added to any instrument.
